EON achieves Business Continuity BS25999 certification again

Last year Continuity Forum reported on E.ON UK’s accomplishment in achieving BS25999-2 certification across its Business services, with no non-conformities found

Recently, following a Continuing Assessment surveillance visit by BSI auditors, E.ON UK has been successful in maintaining its Business Continuity certification - again with no non-conformities found.

E.ON UK Business Continuity Manager, Jag Gogna said:  “The outcome of this re-assessment is fantastic news.  Annual external verification of our BCMS provides us the independent assurance that our plans and capability are effective in managing the risk of business interruption.  However, it’s clearly important that organisations continually develop and maintain best practice all year-round.

Gogna added "Effective continuity planning gives us the confidence that we could protect business critical activities during incidents such as: adverse weather, flooding, national fuel shortages, key supplier-failure or severe pandemics, thereby reducing unacceptable impacts and ensuring we’re able to service our customers’ needs.”

Continuity Forum comment

We applaud the fact that E.ON UK’s BCMS has stood the test of time.  It’s encouraging to see an organisation from the Economic Regulated Sector complying with Business Continuity international best practice in respect of their organisational resilience.

Eon's achievement shows what can be achieved in complex organisations with application and focus ... Well done again!
