BC Expo 2009 cancelled


The annual Business Continuity Expo held at Excel in Londons docklands and scheduled to run in March has been cancelled.

The organisers Reed Exhibitions who bought the rights to the Expo three years ago will also to reviewing the staging of the 2010 event. The Expo had become a featue of the year allowing organisations to showcase their services and discuss the latest development. Previously the organisers had decided to cut the conference programme back.

Russell Price of the Continuity Forum said “It is disappointing to see the demise of this years Expo and we hope that it can be restored for 2010." He added "whilst the economic situation is difficult for many at the moment the need for good business continuity management has never been more important and across the market there are good indicators that BCM will continue its growth over the coming year."

A formal statement from Reed Exhibitions is expected next week. 

Russell Price adds " The Continuity Forum will be continuing with all our planned events and indeed expanding activities throughout 2009/10.

The need to connect with and support the sector is key to our work and we have seen enquires and Web visits continue by over 35% in the last 6 months alone."
