Event Civil Contingencies Act – In Conjunction with Marsh
Venue Wood Street, London, 26th April 2005.

The CCA Workshop

The Civil Contingencies Act redefines the role of local authorities, emergency services and other government agencies in planning for and responding to an emergency. It establishes a new statutory framework for civil protection, at the local level that imposes challenging new duties on Category 1 Responders, covering risk assessment, emergency planning, business continuity, civil protection, communication and advisory services to local businesses.

But what do these measures mean in practice? How would your organisation measure up?

How should you coordinate your own internal effort and liaise with other Category 1 responders?

This workshop goes beyond a discussion of these points and will provide detailed assistance on the interpretation and application of the Civil Contingencies Act.

Through using an interactive case study, relevant to your organisation we give you the opportunity to test the current understanding and capabilities of your organisation as a Category 1 responder under the Act.

We also give you the opportunity to discuss, network and interface with other responders facing the same challenges of implementation across the country though a live scenario. This event is presented in a WORKSHOP format to provide you with the best possible assistance in the developemnt of your planning by enabling the sharing of knowledge in an expertly facilitated environment. We believe that this approach will enable the acceleration of your efforts and hopefully a substantial increase in the effectiveness of the overall planning.
