Secure in the Knowledge

24/7

Date: 14th September 2006
Time: 15.00 - 20.30
Location: The Council House, College Green, Bristol
Entrance is free

This event extends our highly succesful 'Secure in the Knowledge' series of events, to address the additional problems surrounding those organisations working outside of normal business hours and will be of particular interest to:

- Licensees, hoteliers, restaurateurs, bar and night club managers;
- Entertainment venue managers and other service industry providers;
- All businesses employing staff outside normal office hours.

The seminar will focus on security and continuity issues concerning the evening and night-time economy but will be relevant to all businesses in Bristol.

Bristol has a busy and vibrant night-time economy and can host up to 80,000 people every night. This event will highlight the preparations being undertaken by Bristol City Council, Avon and Somerset Police and partner agencies to deal with any emergency that may occur during night-time hours.

The seminar will explore:

- 'Secure in the Knowledge' The National Picture
- The security threat locally
- The experiences of evacuating Birmingham city centre on a Saturday night
- The Bristol Alert Scheme, Project Griffin and Bristol City Council's emergency preparations
- What businesses and communities can do to 'be prepared'
- The support that is available to businesses.

The event is part of a wide-reaching effort to promote the resilience of Bristol's
businesses, services and community and is hosted by Bristol City Council in conjunction
with the Continuity Forum, Avon and Somerset Police and ICM.

The event will be hosted in the unique setting of the main conference hall in Bristol City’s Council House, and will include a Senior Figure from the Security world, along with accredited speakers and experts in the field of Business Continuity and national security.

Bristol is the regional capital of the South West and is home not only to many major businesses but also to over 13,000 small enterprises, providing employment and holding responsibility for many thousands of people. It is expected that this prestigious event will attract a large audience, offering potential networking with businesses of all sizes in the local area. We urge early registration.

The event is offered free of charge to delegates and is aimed at offering businesses unbiased and straightforward advice on Security, Business Continuity Management and Resilience Planning. Delegates are being invited from the Bristol and the SW region, and other interested parties. Please note that registration is required.
